Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the 8^th Annual General Assembly and at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Silk Road Universities Network, which was held at the Canadian University Dubai.

The Silk-Road University Network is an organization created with the aim of restoring and uniting universities located on the land and sea routes of the Silk Road, and to contribute to world peace and the creative development of civilization by training future leaders. The "Spirit of the Silk Road" is a symbol of the bridge between East and West.

The Silk Road University Network includes 81 universities from 28 countries of the world. Since 2015 KazNU has been the founder of this organization and is a member of the Board of Directors of SUN.

It is worth noting that on September 18-21, 2019, the 5^th Annual General Assembly of the Silk Road University Network (SUN) was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. It was attended by the Rector and Vice–rector of universities and the General Secretary of SUN, Mr. Hwang Sangdon.

Within the framework of this visit, the Head of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Secretary General Mr. Hwang Sangdon and the President of the Canadian University Dubai, Pr. Karim Chelli. Also, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the participating universities to further expand the cooperation.
