COOPERATION WITH UNIVERSITÉ LE HAVRE NORMANDIE WILL EXPAND
Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met the First Vice-President of the Université Le Havre Normandie (ULHN) Jean-Noel Castorio and Professor Pierre Chabal. At the meeting certain proposals on bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The Head of the University thanked the honored guests, who had paid visit to the university and stressed the great importance of cooperation. To date, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University cooperates with more than 500 leading educational institutions of the world. The rector noted that 20 agreements have been signed with the centers of education and science of France. Over the past three years, 14 French scientists gave lectures at the university.
"Al-Farabi Kazakh National University pays special attention to science. Currently scientists have developed 100 innovative projects, the work to promote and commercialize them is underway. We are ready for further development of partnership with French universities in the field of education and science. I propose to launch joint centers for the development of partnership between the two universities" the rector suggested.
Jean-Noel Castorio, in turn, thanked the university administration for their hospitality. Speaking about the achievements of the Université Le Havre Normandie, he noted that the university ranked the first in France in terms of scientific projects in the maritime sphere. The institution trains specialists in this field all over the world, and the number of international students is 22 per cent. Further, the guest of honor supported the initiative to strengthen cooperation and expressed his intention to implement mutually beneficial projects.
During the meeting, Professor Pierre Chabal noted the activity of KazNU at international events and expressed confidence in the fruitfulness of mutual partnership.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to organize work on academic mobility of students and teachers, internships.
