Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev received a delegation of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The delegation included Alexey Borovkov, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Dmitry Sachava, Head of Advanced Technology Mapping Department.

Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev acquainted the guests with the achievements of the university and shared plans in scientific areas. He noted: "I recently visited St. Petersburg Polytechnic University on a special working trip, met with the rector of the University Andrey Rudskoi. We discussed a number of general issues. I highly appreciated the infrastructure of the university, research centers and implemented innovative projects. KazNU’s prior attention lies in the commercialization of modern innovative, technological projects. We are ready for the joint development of inter-university ties. I am sure that close relations will be established between the two educational institutions in the future. Internships for teaching staff, student exchange, implementation of joint research projects will be organized," rector stated.

Alexey Borovkov, Vice-Rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, noted that next year would mark the 125^th anniversary of the establishment of the SPbPU, and active preparations are underway for the anniversary. The university has ten centers for the creation and study of advanced digital technologies. The state is making great efforts to develop innovations. He also focused on the process of attracting young people to science.

Alexey Borovkov, during his visit to KazNU, held a seminar for the teaching staff and students of the university called "Advanced Digital and Production Technologies: A Model of Interaction with Industry in the Framework of the Implementation of National and Federal Projects."

Guests from St. Petersburg visited the research center of medicinal plants of KazNU, the scientific and technological park. The delegation also got acquainted with the research work of the mechanical-mathematical and physical-technical faculties.
