Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Coordinator General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) Muhammad Iqbal and exchanged views on the further development of partnership.

During the meeting, the rector of the university told the distinguished guest about the achievements and plans of KazNU. He stressed the need to develop cooperation between KazNU and universities of Muslim countries. "The first meeting of the ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is taking place at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. It is a great honor for us to hold this meeting within the walls of our university. KazNU has established partnerships with higher educational institutions of the Muslim world. However, it is necessary to strengthen this work through the development of partnership with higher educational institutions of the Muslim world through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," the rector stated.

In turn, Muhammad Iqbal expressed gratitude to the rector of the university and stressed that he supports all the initiatives of KazNU. At the same time, the distinguished guest emphasized the active role and significant contribution of Kazakhstan to the development of the OIC activities. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation for the implementation of projects in the near future.
