During the official visit to Moscow, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the heads of leading Russian universities, discussing prospects for cooperation.

On the meeting with the Head of KazNU with the Rector of the RUDN University Oleg Yastrebov, an agreement was reached on the continuation of many years of close work in the field of education and science, as well as on expanding academic mobility opportunities for academic staff and students, increasing joint double-degree educational programs and consolidating efforts for joint scientific research.

Furthermore, the parties agreed on the joint publication of scientific journals and the training of scientific personnel. The meeting also discussed a return visit of the Rector of the RUDN, Professor Yastrebov to the Al-Farabi KazNU, which is scheduled for April this year.

On the same day, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Torkunov. During the bilateral meeting, the directions of strengthening and developing mutual partnership in the field of international cooperation were discussed.

In addition, issues related to the training of scientific personnel, the development of joint double-degree educational programs and the organization of scientific conferences were considered. Both sides have agreed to hold an international conference in May this year, which will be dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of the opening of the UN office in Kazakhstan.
