ENGLISH SCIENTISTS SHARES THEIR EXPERIENCE

ХХІ century has especially raised the issue of food and nutrition security. To solve it, it is necessary to improve the interaction between specialists around the world, as well as to provide students and young scientists with the information on the latest developments, achievements and tools in the key areas of expertise.

 

The library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international round table “Genetic technologies in plant sciences” with the participation of students, at which scientists from one of the world's leading research institutes for agricultural crops – John Innes Center (JIC), UK: Prof. Cristobal Uauy, Dr. Luzie Wingen, Anna Backhaus, presented on unlocking the polyploid potential of wheat through genomics, breaking wheat breeding barriers and morphogenetic systems of wheat.

 

                                

 

Scientists from Kazakhstan also presented findings and views. Dr. Morgunov A.I., who for a long time headed International Winter Wheat Improvement Program in Turkey under the auspices of International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, participated in the discussion.
